In her own words...
I'm in my early 20s. I lost my parents when I was 4 years old and I don't remember much about them. I was raised by my grandmother who was an old and wise woman. Grandma disappeared from my life 4 years ago. I still cry when I think of her. I miss her.
I finished top of my class in high school and I am now studying history and creative art at NYU — all my studies are paid for by a person whom I never met. The school administrator told me that he said he knew my parents and asked to stay just "Sam". Every night I thank Mr. "Sam" for allowing me to study.
I love to read and love going to see movies (my favorite character is Indy, yes, yes Mr. Jones haha, and so...)
I never had any friends in school, but now I have Liz who owns a bakery and coffee shop (I loooove her hot chocolate) and Jill who runs an insanely hectic startup. They are my best friends! They are both loopy... you know what I mean, they run their own businesses, with clients and money and people and... You know crazy...
I live in a nice row house, which used to be owned by my grandma. It is filled with my books, ancient drawings and even (don't tell anyone! some of my treasured trading cards collections). My favorite time in the day is around 9pm when the city becomes quiet and I can drink my hot chocolate and read my books. I love them all — adventures, history, and even some magic ones.
The best birthday present I ever got was when I was seven years old. My grandma gave me an ancient map of our neighborhood with historical facts about the different buildings and locations around our town. You won't believe it but it had markings of old treasures' locations. I looked for them for weeks but never found any :-( I remember having this feeling I really can see these old houses at the time they were just built. It's almost as if I was there when they were constructed. Liz said that I am loopy from reading all these books, but I know that I have been in these places before.
My day usually starts and ends in the school library. I do research for school work and then read other interesting stuff. I love NYU archives of old newspapers — it's like I'm living in these times, I can always imagine how it was back then. Don't tell Liz she will say... you know... loopy...
My two favorite TV shows are really old ones — Highlander and the Time Tunnel. Did I mention I love history? When I watch these shows it's like I'm in a different place and time, it always feels like home... haha... loopy.
I don't know what I'll do after I finish my degree next year. I feel I need a good adventure like in the reruns I keep on watching. It's like I know I am missing something but I don't know what. I know there is more to me.
